Mr. Amburn graduated from the University of Tennessee with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and received his law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in December 1978. After graduating from law school, Mr. Amburn served as a law clerk for the Honorable Joe D. Duncan, Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. He is past chair and current member of the Executive Committee of the Tennessee Bar Health Law Section and has been a seminar speaker at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine and various health law seminars. He is a member of the American Inns of Court (Hamilton Burnett Chapter), the Tennessee, American, and Knoxville Bar Associations, the American Health Lawyers Association, and American Society of Law and Medicine. He is a past participant in the American Medical Association’s Doctor Advisory Network. He was listed in City View Magazine’s “Knoxville Top Attorneys (Hospital and Health Care Law) 2007” and is a Fellow of the Knoxville Bar Foundation. He was named to the 2008 BTI “Transactions All-Star Team” in the area of corporate transactions. His practice focuses primarily on physicians and physician groups and includes representation of the Knoxville Academy of Medicine. |
